In one of the very few moments of true sincerity, surprise, and enjoyment at the 2019 Grammy awards, Cardi B, after slaying a 1920s-style, burlesque-inspired performance of her hit “Money,” was awarded Best Rap Album for 2018’s Invasion of Privacy, her debut full-length.

She is the first woman to ever receive the award, which was first introduced in 1996 and given to Naughty by Nature for their fourth album, Poverty’s Paradise.

She joins a short list of women who were even nominated: Eve, Missy Elliott, Nicky Minaj and Iggy Azalea.
